Life Verses

A pair of glasses sitting atop an open Bible

I therefore urge you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

Be humble and gentle. Be patient with one another, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourself united in the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.

– Ephesians 4:1-3

There is much to learn from this scripture. This scripture serves as a reminder, a huge reminder. However today I would like to touch on what are called life verses. These are verses that the Holy Spirit has given to you Personally. Often others have the same life verses. They come from the Holy Spirit, and they are pertinent to your life. They have real meaning and the guide and govern you through life.

I would like to mention a couple of mine. Then I have something for you to do. I would ask for you to sit in quiet and write yours down unless you have them marked down. Study them and then you will know the reason they have become life verses for you.

Proverbs 3:5-6 When I was much younger, I thought I could do it all and

I thought I controlled my destiny. How naïve of me to think such a thing. The Lord clearly showed me His truth. 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him

Titus 2:7-8 Because of the worldly successes I have had people would talk behind my back.

It bothered me, then the Lord gave me this verse to show me that what mattered most was

His thoughts towards me. 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,[a] 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of [b]you.

These are just a couple that are near and dear to me. Now again I ask you to sit in quiet for a few minutes and write yours down unless you already have them marked down. Then study them and you will know the reason they have become life verses for you.

Questions to Ponder

  1. What are your life verses and why?

Thoughts for the Day!

As you pondered and studied your life verses let them serve as a reminder or a blueprint that you can always look to at any time. They are yours to guide and govern you through life. Especially during the trials in your life or the celebrations. Paul the apostle shared, I will paraphrase, whatever thoughts you have that are lovely, good, noble, fruitful, think upon those things.

Always remember, He makes it happen, you make it count!

Blessings!
