The Pattern

A series of Scrabble letters arranged to read SPEAK TRUTH

Lord, who may abide in your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
e who walks uprightly and works righteousness,
and speaks the truth in his heart;
He who does not backbite with his tongue,
nor does evil to his neighbor,
nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but he honors those who fear the Lord;
he who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
he who does not put out his money at usury,
nor does he take a bribe against the innocent,
he who does these things shall never be moved.

Psalm 15:1-5

Wow! What a portrait of a person that possesses awesome qualities. It isn’t easy to live up to those qualities that are good, is it?

When David wrote these the Lord revealed to him what it takes to be a person after God’s own heart. David failed at a few of these, but he never stopped trying to be a man after God’s heart. The most important ingredient it takes to be like Jesus is knowing that you can’t do it with out Him living in your heart. What do you have to do to have Jesus living in your heart?…all you must do is ask! Look at a few items and see if any resonate with you?

Questions to ponder

  1. Do you possess integrity?

  2. Do you speak out against wrong?

  3. Do you pay honor to those who walk in truth?

  4. Do you keep your word, even if it means taking a back seat?

  5. Are you good to others?

  6. Do you avoid gossip?

  7. Do you only take what you need?

  8. Are you stable?

  9. Are you in His Word daily?

Thoughts for the day!

It isn’t easy being a person after God’s heart, but it is well worth the effort. Knowing that you cannot live without Him is necessary. Once you realize that, go after Him with all the passion, zeal, and heart you have. Then and only then will you realize the full value of life.

Always remember, He makes it happen, you make it count!

Blessings!
