The Truth Always Helps

All the Israelites grumbles against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” And they said to each other, “ We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

– Numbers 14:2-4

Often when an unexpected circumstance arises, people will blame others, they will become negative, and most will go into some sort of funk. They will often quit right in the middle of something. “It isn’t what I expected. You didn’t tell me it would be this difficult.” These types of comments are the ones that often proceed when people decide to bail out.

We must have realistic goals, we must be prepared to face anything, we must be honest, we must paint a portrait in vivid detail, we must expect the unexpected, and we must be truthful with ourselves and with others.

Questions to ponder

  1. When the going get rough, what do you do?

  2. Do you set realistic goals?

  3. Do you ask questions before you start something?

  4. Do you just jump right into a project?

  5. Are you always honest in your feelings before you bail out?

Thoughts for the day!

Often, we don’t see things the same way. Even though we are looking at the same thing. We never have guarantees that things will turn out the way we expect, however the one thing that is constant: we should never quit until we have given it our all. Our all is not by our expectation, but our all is by taking it to a point where it is better than when we started.

When obstacles are presented, don’t quit! Welcome the challenge, after all you were chosen for the mission.

Always remember, He makes it happen, you make it count!

Blessings!
