The Journey and How to Get There
“Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls.
– Jeremiah 6:16a (NKJV)
It’s been said that mission is the feet to the vision. Without mission, the casted vision would never meet its intention.
If you don’t know the will of God for your life, then you’re empty, and wherever there is a place that is empty, that is a place where things have the ability to take residence. If your mind isn’t filled with the light of God, it is going to be filled with darkness. Darkness is a place of residency for the enemy.
The enemy is always looking for a place to hide. Demons are looking for a place that is void of understanding and void of good matter. That place is called “darkness”.
True freedom is found in loving what we ought to do, not just loving what we want to do. It’s found in the word “Ought”, simply stated. It’s our “obligation” in response to “move” (as in “move forward”). It’s “do”—do what is morally right. It is God‘s intention and God’s intention is that we walk in His perfect will for our life.
The Bible gives us instruction on how not to do the things that we shouldn’t do and how to do the things we ought to. The Bible is very clear. We are to die daily to our flesh. We are to pick up our cross and follow the Lord Jesus Christ daily. Otherwise, the flesh will rise up and it will be the very thing that leads us, instead of being led by the Spirit of the Lord.
Questions to ponder
What are the things you know are right, but struggle to do them?
What are the things you know are wrong, but are easy for you to do?
Do you die daily to the things you struggle with?
Do you try to avoid destructive things on your own, or do you ask the Holy Spirit to help you?
Thoughts for the day!
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom, and in the Spirit of the Lord, we find truth. It is truth that sets us free and allows us to function along the path of our journey. Truth is our “How to get there”—it is our guide on the journey.
Always remember, He makes it happen, you make it count!
