Your Dream

Then they said to one another, “Look this dreamer is coming! Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, Some wild beast has devoured him.” We shall see what becomes of his dreams!

Genesis 37:19-20

Joseph had dreams. He could interpret dreams. He had a dream that one day his brothers would bow to him. Joseph shared that dream with his family and trouble began for him. When we dream, usually in the beginning, we are so excited that we forget about using wisdom. We want people to know what is up. Joseph was no different. Dreams often don’t start off too well and when they don’t, we often abandon them. Have you?

If it is truly your dream, stick with it! Use wisdom, see it through. The scripture in Genesis is a response by Joseph’s brothers to his dream. There are times when your dream will get no support. You have heard it all too often. “You’re crazy, it’ll never happen,” What a thought, you are a dreamer”, “You’re on your own” “This will never come to pass” Or “This too shall pass” Whatever you have been told, your dreams will often come with opposition.

Questions to ask

  1. What are your dreams?

  2. Who have you shared them with?

  3. What opposition have you encountered?

  4. How long did it take for the dream to come to pass?

Thoughts for the day!

Don’t give up! When your dream comes up against opposition, press in and press on. Your dream may be full of surprises, and it may not go as you planned, but you cannot give up. Joseph didn’t give up because he knew the Lord was with him. That is what mattered. If God is for you, there is no opposition that can stop the dream, except yourself. There is a saying; God is too good to be unkind. God is too wise to be confused. When I cannot trace His hand, I can always trust His heart!

Always remember, He makes it happen, you make it count!

Blessings!
